Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 23: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, SP Headquarters addressed a seminar on Drugs Awareness at Girl's Govt Degree College, Parade Ground, to educate students about the growing threat of drugs. The seminar addressed how drug addiction begins, the various forms of narcotic substances, their short-term and long-term effects on physical and mental health, and the social damage caused by addiction. Students were also informed about practical ways to overcome vulnerability by re-channelling energy into creative pursuits, maintaining strong family connections, and seeking timely support. The officer emphasized the importance of identifying signs of substance abuse among peers, extending support to affected individuals, and promptly reporting drug-related activities to police through available helpline numbers including ERSS-112. During the programme, students and faculty members actively participated in an interactive session and took the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan pledge, reaffirming their commitment to building a drug-free society. Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to spreading awareness among youth and strengthening community participation in the fight against drug abuse. |
