Early Times Report AMRITSAR, May 1: The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College, Amritsar, in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Nagpur, successfully organized an online webinar on "Protecting IPR and IP Management for Start-ups".The workshop was designed to enhance awareness about intellectual property rights (IPR) and their crucial role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and start-up enthusiasts from across the country. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal of DAV College, Amritsar, Dr. Amardeep Gupta. In his address, Dr. Gupta emphasized the growing importance of intellectual property protection in today's competitive start-up ecosystem. He stated, "Understanding IPR is no longer an option but a necessity for young innovators. I am glad that our IPR Cell and IIC, along with RGNIIPM, Nagpur, are taking proactive steps to equip our students with this essential knowledge." Experts from RGNIIPM, Nagpur, Dr Kumar Raju served as resource persons and delivered insightful sessions on key topics such as patent filing procedures, trademark registration, copyright protection, design rights, and IP management strategies specifically tailored for start-ups. The interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify their doubts regarding IP infringement, licensing, and commercialization of intellectual assets. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the convenor of the IPR Cell Dr Sunny Thukral, who expressed gratitude to RGNIIPM, Nagpur, for their valuable collaboration and to Principal Dr. Amardeep Gupta for his constant encouragement. Participants appreciated the hands-on approach and requested more such initiatives in the future. This workshop marks another significant step by DAV College, Amritsar, toward building a culture of innovation, research, and start-up readiness among its students. |
