Early Times Report
AMRITSAR, May 11: Guru Nanak Dev University has achieved another remarkable international milestone by securing 78th position globally in the category of "University Brand and Reputation" in the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
This recognition places Guru Nanak Dev University among the world's leading innovative universities and further establishes that today, GNDU has emerged as a strong global academic brand. Significantly, GNDU is among the very few Indian public universities to receive this prestigious international recognition. The rankings were announced on May 7, 2026, under the aegis of Institute for Policy & Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and WURI, with support from international academic bodies.
Expressing happiness over this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh said that this honour is the collective outcome of the dedication, commitment and visionary efforts of the faculty, students, alumni, officers, employees and all stakeholders associated with the university. He stated that in the contemporary global academic environment, building a strong university reputation requires innovation, quality research, social commitment, academic excellence and international collaborations, and GNDU has continuously worked in all these directions. The Vice-Chancellor conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the university fraternity, alumni across the globe, academic and administrative staff, media fraternity, researchers, students and well-wishers for their continuous support and contribution in bringing laurels to the university. He specifically congratulated Prof. Jatinder Kaur, Director IQAC and her team for their dedicated efforts and meticulous work in achieving this prestigious international recognition. Prof. Singh added that Guru Nanak Dev University's growing international recognition reflects its commitment to the vision of quality education, research excellence, entrepreneurship, skill development and societal transformation in line with the changing global academic landscape and the spirit of the National Education Policy.
