Women take lead in “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” at SPPND GDC Samba

Samba, May 12: The Women Development Cell of SPPND Government Degree College, Samba organised a pledge-taking ceremony as part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. Female faculty members and girl students participated enthusiastically in the programme and pledged to work towards building a drug-free society.
The event aimed at spreading awareness against substance abuse and encouraging active community participation in the fight against drug addiction. During the programme, participants were made aware of the early warning signs of drug abuse and the importance of strengthening vigilance at the family and community levels.
Highlighting the crucial role of women in transforming social attitudes towards addiction, the programme focused on empowering women to become torchbearers in protecting youth and promoting sustainable rehabilitation efforts. The initiative also emphasised that families and educational institutions must act as strongholds against drug abuse. The programme underlined the importance of women-led participation in breaking the chain of addiction and creating a healthy and responsible society.
The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Nirlape Kour. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Papinder Bhagat, NCORD Officer, along with the members of the Women Development Cell.
