The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Umesh Sharma, Dy. Headmaster and Chief Coordinator, DPS Jammu, who recently attended the prestigious counselling workshops "Counsellor Connect: Foundations and Features" and the International Counsellor Workshop 2026 organised by the Delhi Public School Society at HRDC, DPS Noida. Following this, he has been entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Career Counseling and College Access Programme at DPS Jammu. Serving as the resource person for the session, he guided educators through the nuances of drafting impactful Letters of Recommendation aligned with international university expectations. The session witnessed active participation from educators keen to enhance their professional writing competencies to better support students in their academic and career pursuits, particularly in the context of global university admissions.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip teachers with practical tools and effective strategies for drafting Letters of Recommendation that accurately capture students' strengths, achievements, and future potential. Emphasis was laid on the importance of personalised, evidence-based narratives aligned with the expectations of leading international institutions.
Through engaging discussions, case-based examples, and structured guidance, participants gained valuable insights into crafting well-structured LORs, avoiding common pitfalls, and aligning their writing with global best practices.
