Doda police intensifies anti-narcotics drive; wild cannabis cultivation spread over 36 kanals destroyed across multiple areas of district

DODA, May 12: Continuing its sustained and intensified campaign against narcotics and illegal cultivation of contraband substances under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, Doda Police today carried out a series of anti-drug operations across different parts of the district and destroyed wild cannabis cultivation spread over nearly 36 kanals of land.
A major destruction drive was conducted in the Nagri, Tondwah and Ghat areas, where wild cannabis cultivation spread over approximately 15 kanals of land was identified and destroyed. The operation was conducted under the close supervision of Addl. SP Headquarters Doda, DySP Headquarters Doda and DySP DAR Doda, with active participation of police teams from the concerned police stations.
Similarly, in the jurisdiction of Police Post Kastigarh, police teams carried out a special drive and uprooted wild cannabis cultivation spread over approximately three kanals of land.
In another operation conducted under the jurisdiction of Police Post Goha Marmat, wild cannabis cultivation spread over nearly two kanals of land was destroyed in the Chamote and Goha areas as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign.
Further continuing the drive, Police Post Bhagwah conducted a destruction operation at village Billawas, where wild cannabis cultivated over approximately one kanal of land was destroyed following due legal procedure. Another one kanal area near Market Bagla was also cleared of wild cannabis cultivation during the operation.
Likewise, Police Post Pul Doda carried out a destruction drive at village Pul Doda and destroyed wild cannabis (Bhang) cultivated over approximately one kanal of land within its jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, SHO Police Station Dessa along with his team also carried out a special anti-narcotics drive in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dessa, during which wild growth of cannabis plants was identified and uprooted as part of the district-wide campaign against narcotics.
During all these operations, police teams carried out extensive searches in remote and vulnerable areas known for illegal wild cannabis growth. Huge quantities of cannabis plants were identified, uprooted and destroyed on the spot in accordance with legal procedures to ensure complete eradication of the illegal cultivation.
