Directorate of Horticulture Jammu holds review meeting

JAMMU, May 16: A meeting was held today in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Horticulture Jammu under the chairmanship of Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Syed. The meeting was attended by Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, Sh. Salil Gupta; Deputy Director Horticulture (Central) Jammu, Sh. Mukesh Kumar; Deputy Director Planning, Smt. Divya Mahajan; Accounts Officer, Sh. Nirmal Tikku; all Chief Horticulture Officers of Jammu Province; Assistant Director, Sh. Sunil Gupta; all DL-SMSs of Jammu Province; Horticulture Information& Publicity Officer Sh. Randhir Singh Parihar ( Nodal officer for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyain), Soil Analyst Sh. Ashwani Sharma' Horticulture Development .Officer Information Dr. Vijay Kumar and Horticulture Development Officers along with technical staff. During the meeting, the auction of fruit crop, green wood and pruned dry wood of departmental orchards and nurseries for the year 2026 was conducted successfully.
Later, a detailed review meeting was held with all Chief Horticulture Officers of Jammu Province regarding the implementation and progress of various horticulture schemes and departmental programmers being executed across the Jammu Province. Discussions were also held regarding awareness among farmers, plantation targets, nursery development, quality planting material and effective field-level monitoring of schemes.
The Director stressed upon all officers and field functionaries to work with dedication for the welfare of the farming community and to ensure better outreach of government schemes among orchardists and farmers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all officers and officials took a pledge under the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" and reaffirmed their commitment towards creating awareness against drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society. The Director emphasized the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding youth from the menace of drugs and spreading the message of a "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyain" at the grassroots level.
