| Ramban police arrest two drug peddlers, 103 Buprenorphine tablets recovered | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, June 1: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Ramban Police achieved a significant success by apprehending two persons involved in the illegal possession and transportation of psychotropic substances. Acting on specific information, a naka/checkpoint was established at Shan Palace, Ramban. During checking, a Swift car (chassis vehicle) coming from Jammu towards Kashmir was intercepted and subjected to a thorough search. During the search, police recovered a total of 103 tablets of Addnok-N (Buprenorphine 2 mg) from the possession of the following individuals: Ghulam Nabi, S/o Khuda Baksh, R/o Amkot Chamalwas, Ramban 79 tablets (07 strips containing 10 tablets each and one strip containing 09 tablets). Mohd Mazamil, S/o Mohd Ishaq, R/o Sangaldan, Ramban - 24 tablets. The recovered contraband was found to be in their illegal possession and was seized on the spot in accordance with legal procedures. Accordingly, cognizance of the offence has been taken and FIR No. 134/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban. Both accused persons have been apprehended and further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the recovered contraband. Ramban Police remains committed to its zero tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the general public to cooperate and share information regarding drug-related activities in their areas. |
