| Reasi police continue crackdown on narcotics, recovers 6.3 grams of Chitta | | | Early Times Report REASI, June 1: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering contraband substance from his possession. During naka checking at Balni Naka on 31.05.2026, a police party of Police Station Katra intercepted an electric auto bearing registration No. JK20C-8618, which was coming from Katra and heading towards Reasi. The vehicle was being driven by Anil Sharma, S/o Shubash Chander, R/o Saroon Aghar Jitto, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi. During the checking, the police party recovered approximately 6.3 grams of heroin (Chitta) from the possession of the accused. Acting promptly, the accused was taken into custody and the contraband was seized as per legal procedures. In this regard, a case FIR No. 166/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband. Reasi Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse.
