Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, June 2: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and narcotics-related offences under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, District Police Kishtwar has attached a vehicle worth approximately Rs 26 lakhs under the provisions of Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act and also registered a case regarding illegal cultivation of poppy plants in the jurisdiction of Police Post Drabshalla.
SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh-JKPS, while sharing the details, stated that during the investigation of FIR No. 90/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar, it surfaced that a Minibus bearing Registration No. JK06C-5714, owned by Mudasir Hussain S/o Mehraj-ud-Din R/o Om Mehta Road, Tehsil and District Kishtwar, was allegedly acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotic drug trafficking.
Accordingly, after following the due legal procedure prescribed under the NDPS Act, the said vehicle has been attached under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Moreover, Police Post Drabshalla destroyed illegal poppy cultivation belonging to Sameer Ahmed S/o Late Ajaz Ahmed R/o Khori Saroor, Drabshalla. In this regard, FIR No. 131/2026 under Section 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been initiated.
SSP Kishtwar reiterated that under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Kishtwar Police is committed to dismantling the entire drug trafficking ecosystem by targeting not only drug peddlers and traffickers but also the assets, proceeds, and illegal cultivation associated with narcotics-related crimes. He emphasized that strict legal action shall continue against all persons found involved in drug trafficking, illegal cultivation of narcotic substances, and related offences.
He further appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and share information regarding drug trafficking, illegal cultivation of narcotic plants, and other unlawful activities. Kishtwar Police remains steadfast in its commitment to making the district drug-free and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
