Early Times Report
Amritsar, June 7: A Free Urology Check-up Camp was successfully organized at Uppal Neuro & Multispeciality OPD Clinic, Jammu, located at Kaluchak, under the guidance of Dr. Ashok Uppal. During the camp, patients were examined by Dr. Tushar Aggarwal, and a large number of people availed themselves of the healthcare services offered. As part of the camp, patients were provided with free Uroflowmetry tests, along with special discounts on investigations and treatment procedures. The initiative aimed to promote awareness and early detection of urological disorders. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tushar Aggarwal said that urinary disorders, kidney stones, and prostate-related diseases are increasing rapidly, primarily due to inadequate water intake and lack of awareness. He emphasized that symptoms such as painful or burning urination, frequent urination, blood in urine, or interrupted urine flow should never be ignored. He particularly advised men above the age of 50 to undergo regular prostate screening. Dr. Aggarwal also announced that Urology OPD services have now started at Uppal Neuro & Multispeciality Clinic, Jammu, enabling local patients to access specialized urological care closer to home. Dr. Aggarwal further highlighted that social stigma and hesitation surrounding urinary, prostate, and sexual health issues remain significant challenges. Many individuals avoid discussing these conditions, despite them being common medical problems that can be effectively treated when diagnosed early. He added that advanced and modern treatment facilities for all major urological conditions are available at Uppal Neuro & Multispeciality Hospital. Sharing preventive health advice, Dr. Aggarwal recommended drinking 2.5–3 liters of water daily, avoiding the habit of holding urine for long periods, and maintaining good personal hygiene.
He also advised limiting processed foods, alcohol, and smoking, while incorporating regular light exercise into daily routines to reduce the risk of urological disorders. The camp received an encouraging response from the public and reinforced the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and timely treatment of urological diseases. |
