REASI, June 9: Acting swiftly on a viral video shared by a vigilant citizen, Reasi Police identified and booked an auto-rickshaw driver for reckless driving and dangerous stunts on a public road in Katra.
The accused, Arun Kumar S/o Parkash Nath R/o Aghar Jitto, Buthan, was found driving auto-rickshaw JK02AW-8879 in a manner that endangered the lives of commuters and pilgrims. Accordingly, FIR No. 179/2026 under relevant provisions of the BNS was registered at Police Station Katra, and the vehicle was seized.
Reasi Police appreciated the citizen's alertness and urged the public to report such incidents directly to the police for prompt action. The department reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against rash and reckless driving and warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators. |
