Doda police traced two missing persons and reunited them with their families

DODA, June 10: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment towards public service and citizen welfare, Doda Police successfully traced two missing persons in separate operations conducted by Police Station Bhaderwah and Police Post Changa (Police Station Gandoh) and reunited them with their respective families after completing all requisite legal formalities.
In the first case, Asif Wani S/o Showkat Wani R/o Nalthi, Bhaderwah, was reported missing vide GD Entry No. 21 dated 20.04.2026 at Police Station Bhaderwah. Acting promptly on the report, the SHO Police Station Bhaderwah constituted a dedicated police team and initiated sustained search efforts. Through persistent investigation, technical assistance, and coordinated efforts, the missing person was successfully traced from Bari Brahmana, Jammu, on 10.06.2026. Thereafter, he was brought to Police Station Bhaderwah and, after completion of all necessary legal formalities, was safely reunited with his family and handed over to the complainant, Mrs. Rehana Begum W/o Asif Wani. Consequently, the missing report registered vide GD Entry No. 21 dated 20.04.2026 was closed.
In another case, a missing report was lodged at Police Post Changa vide DDR No. 15 dated 08.06.2026 regarding the disappearance of Rukeya Banoo D/o Late Mohd Amin Mughal R/o Kilhotran, Tehsil Gandoh, District Doda. Acting swiftly, the police team of Police Post Changa, led by the In-charge Police Post Changa under the leadership of SHO Police Station Gandoh, launched a thorough enquiry and search operation.
As a result of the prompt and dedicated efforts of the police team, the missing lady was traced safely from Bhargi. After recording her statement and completing all legal formalities, she was handed over to her legal heirs. Accordingly, the missing report was closed vide DD Entry No. 15 dated 10.06.2026.
The family members of both recovered persons expressed their sincere gratitude to the police teams for their relentless efforts, professionalism, and timely action in tracing.
Doda Police remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of citizens and continues to make every possible effort to trace missing persons and reunite them with their families at the earliest.
