| “A Gender war or A failure of law?” | | | Tanisha sati
The Indian Judiciary system has been made in order to protect the citizens of country & provide justice. It has been playing its role for a long period of time, but still a large number of people raise questions and concerns regarding the system of justice. Is the law really playing its role accordingly, in the favour of public or not? There are million numbers of cases that are left unheard or unseen by the face of law. Many criminal cases are filed against the criminals, but more than half of those files are closed even without even providing justice. Most of the time, or we can say almost 90% of the time the war against the system turns into a war between men & women. Both the genders face crimes but there are large number of crimes committed by men against women, which is the reason the govt. has made many laws in favour of women as it is much needed. Women safety is the major issue in this countries. Laws are made but are they really imposed or just a statement on a piece of paper? According to the latest reports of NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau), the crimes against women in India exceed up to 4.45 lakhs cases annually which gives a roughly average of 51 FIR’s every hour. Now these are the reports of the cases which are filed by women. There are upto 99.9% of sexual assault cases which are not even reported. The data varies from city to city. Whenever any crime happens in India which includes a women either as a victim or as a criminal, the case got highly rated as there is women vs men remaining justice. It is more failure of the system of the justice than favouring to the fiction gender. As conflict it is gender “Void” justice. Delayed is justice denied, and in India justice is more often delayed in many cases. The laws should be amended according to providing justice equally to every citizen of India. Capital punishments, life sentence and more such punishment which creates fear in the minds of criminals should strictly be imposed and should discourage in order to prevent crimes. |
