6/15/2026 9:59:38 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 14: Pardeep Sharma, the Publicity Secretary for BJP District Jammu South, has described cybercrime and online fraud as the biggest threats of the modern era. He stated that in this era of Digital India, as rapidly as technology has advanced, cyber fraudsters have become equally active.
Speaking to the media during an event, Pardeep Sharma said that cybercrime and online fraud are the threats of the new age. Today, everyone has a smartphone, and everything from banking to shopping is moving online. In such a situation, even a small mistake can sink years of people’s hard-earned savings.
He made a special appeal to the youth and the elderly:
* Do not click on any unknown links.
* Do not share your OTP (One-Time Password)with anyone.
* Beware of calls offering tempting rewards.
Sharma mentioned that fraudsters are adopting new methods, such as fake customer care calls, KYC updates, loan offers, and lottery messages.
He noted that the Central Government is serious about cyber security. Anyone can file a complaint immediately through the cybercrime helpline.
BJP workers are also going village to village and ward to ward to make people aware of cyber security. Praising the Cyber Cell of the Jammu Police, he said that the police are continuously taking action in such cases. However, until the general public remains vigilant, this threat cannot be completely eliminated.
