| GDC, Ramgarh launches International Yoga Day week celebrations | | | Early Times Report RAMGARH, June 17: Government Degree College, Ramgarh commenced the week-long celebrations of International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation under the visionary leadership and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College. The series of activities is being organized by Ashok Kumar and coordinated by Prof. Brham Dutt, with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic health among faculty members, students, and the wider community. The celebrations began on 16 June 2026 with a comprehensive Yoga Session, during which participants practiced various basic yogic postures (asanas) designed to improve flexibility, strength, concentration, and overall physical health. The session emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life as a means of achieving balance between the body and mind. Continuing the momentum of the celebrations, a special session on Breathing Exercises (Pranayama) was organized on 17 June 2026. Participants actively engaged in various breathing techniques aimed at enhancing lung capacity, improving mental clarity, reducing stress, and fostering emotional resilience. The session highlighted the significance of pranayama as a powerful tool for relaxation, self-discipline, and maintaining overall wellness in today's fast-paced world. Addressing the participants, Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College, emphasized the transformative role of yoga in contemporary society. She stated, "Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic way of life that nurtures harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. Through these celebrations, we seek to cultivate discipline, inner peace, and healthy living among our students, faculty, and the community. Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar, Organizer of the programme, remarked, "The observance of International Yoga Day Week serves as an important platform to encourage individuals to embrace yoga as a regular practice. Prof. Brham Dutt, Coordinator of the programme, highlighted the educational and social dimensions of the initiative.
