Early Times Report SAMBA, June 17: In a determined effort to strengthen the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Sh. Anuj Kumar, IPS today chaired a comprehensive review meeting of cases registered under NDPS Act at Conference Hall DPO Samba. The meeting was attended by Addl. SP Samba, all SDPOs, SHOs, Investigating Officers (IOs) of NDPS cases and other officers of the district. During the review, SSP Samba laid special emphasis on the identification and establishment of forward and backward linkages in every NDPS case to dismantle the entire drug supply chain. Officers were directed to thoroughly investigate the source of narcotic substances as well as the distribution networks, financiers, facilitators and end-users involved in drug trafficking activities. The SSP directed all investigating officers to initiate proceedings for attachment of illegally acquired properties under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act against identified drug traffickers. He further instructed officers to ensure that all eligible cases are processed for detention under the PITNDPS Act. He stressed that habitual and notorious drug traffickers who continue to pose a threat to society should be dealt with through preventive detention measures as per law. SSP Samba directed all officers to strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and competent authorities regarding the cancellation, suspension of Driving Licences (DLs), Registration Certificates (RCs) of vehicles, Passports, Aadhaar, etc.
