The drug menace has become a dark cloud hanging over our beautiful Jammu region. As a student, I see how substance abuse is quietly stealing the potential of our youth, pulling them away from their dreams and into a cycle that ruins lives and shatters families. It is time we stop being silent spectators and take collective action. The ongoing “100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan” is a crucial step, but its success depends on us—the community. We cannot leave this fight solely to the police or administration; it must become a Jan Andolan (people’s movement). For the next 100 days, I propose a simple but powerful personal commitment: Awareness: Start conversations in our schools, colleges, and neighborhoods. Don’t just scroll past; share information about the dangers of addiction. Vigilance: Identify local hotspots. If you see suspicious activity near a school or a pharmacy selling restricted medicines without a prescription, report it immediately. Support: Reach out to friends who might be struggling. Sometimes, a non-judgmental ear is the first step toward rehabilitation. Healthy Habits: Let’s fill our time with sports, fitness, and productive hobbies. A strong body and a sharp mind are the best armor against addiction. We are the future of Jammu. Let’s make these 100 days count by turning our region into a space where youth can thrive without the fear of drugs. Together, we can reclaim our future and build a healthier, drug-free society. It starts with me. It starts with you. |
