IIM Jammu concludes three-day management development programme

JAMMU, June 24: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Leadership Skills for Managers for officials of the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) Ltd on 24th June 2026. The programme was conducted from 22nd to 24th June 2026 at the Vedanta MDP Centre, IIM Jammu, with the objective of enhancing leadership competencies, managerial effectiveness, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities among participants. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, who joined the event virtually, along with Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director, NBCC Ltd., who also addressed the gathering in online mode. Dr. Debasis Satapathy, Executive Director, NBCC Ltd., was present during the valedictory ceremony. Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu, also graced the occasion and shared his insights with the participants.
Also present during the valedictory ceremony were Prof. Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu, and the Programme Directors, Dr. Malaya Ranjan Mohapatra, Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, and Dr. Vaseem Akram, whose efforts contributed significantly to the design and delivery of the programme. The training programme provided participants with valuable exposure to contemporary leadership practices, strategic management concepts, and practical approaches to organizational excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director, NBCC Ltd., congratulated the participants on successfully completing the Management Development Programme and commended IIM Jammu for delivering a transformative and professionally enriching learning experience. He extended a warm invitation to Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, to further deliberate on future collaborations and strategic partnerships between NBCC and IIM Jammu aimed at strengthening leadership development and organizational excellence. Addressing the participants, he emphasized that being trained by a premier institution such as IIM Jammu is both a privilege and a matter of immense pride. He noted that the programme was meticulously designed to cultivate structured thinking, analytical decision-making, professional discipline, effective time management, and a systematic approach to problem-solving through case-based learning and experiential pedagogy. Urging the participants to become agents of change, he stressed that the true value of the programme would be realized only when its learnings are translated into action. He encouraged them to implement the knowledge, skills, and perspectives gained during the programme not only within their workplaces but also in their personal lives and communities. Highlighting the critical role of leadership in nation-building, he remarked that every positive change initiated by an individual contributes to organizational growth and the larger development of the country. He further appreciated the efforts of Dr. Debasis Satapathy, Executive Director, NBCC, for his valuable support and commitment in facilitating the programme and fostering a strong partnership between NBCC and IIM Jammu.
