SSP Samba reviews comprehensive security arrangements; chairs coordination meeting with CAPFs and security agencies ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

SAMBA, June 24: In preparation for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, SSP Samba, Sh. Anuj Kumar, IPS today chaired a security coordination meeting with officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Army and various security and intelligence agencies to review and strengthen the security framework for the smooth, safe and incident-free conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The meeting was attended by Addl. SP Samba, officers of CISF, BSF, CRPF, Army, all SDPOs, DySP SOG Samba, SHOs, representatives from Police Telecom, Traffic Police, CID, GRP and other officers of Samba Police.
The primary objective of the meeting was to facilitate interaction among officers of the participating CAPFs, Army and other security agencies and to familiarize them with the geographical terrain, strategic importance and security dynamics of District Samba.
During the meeting, SSP Samba delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the prevailing security scenario in the district, the border security grid, vulnerable areas and various operational challenges associated with ensuring the safe and uninterrupted movement of pilgrims during SANJY-2026.
The participating officers were comprehensively briefed about their respective roles, responsibilities and deployment plans during the Yatra period. Detailed discussions were held regarding security arrangements, area domination measures, convoy protection, anti-sabotage checks, emergency response mechanisms, communication protocols and inter-agency coordination. Duty points and deployment locations of CAPFs and other participating security agencies were also finalized and discussed in detail to ensure seamless execution of security operations.
SSP Samba stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of alertness and operational readiness in view of the sensitivity and significance of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He directed all officers to remain vigilant, proactive and prepared to respond effectively to any emerging security challenge.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba urged all participating officers and personnel to work with utmost professionalism, dedication and coordination. He emphasized that close synergy among Police, CAPFs, Army, intelligence agencies and other stakeholders is essential for ensuring a peaceful, secure, and successful Yatra.
SSP Samba expressed confidence that through collective efforts, meticulous planning and effective coordination, the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 would be conducted smoothly and without any untoward incident.
