| Reasi police continues crackdown on narcotics; 2.600 grams heroin recovered | | | Early Times Report REASI, June 24: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug abuse and narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession . During the intervening night, a police party of Police Post Talwara while conducting patrolling in the Migrant Area of Talwara found a person roaming suspiciously in the area who was intercepted and stopped for checking. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Parkash Singh S/o Kapoor Singh R/o Ballad Kanthi, Tehsil Thuroo, District Reasi, presently residing at Migrant Colony Talwara .while conducting his personal search 2.600 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. By illegally possessing the contraband substance, the accused had committed offences punishable under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Accordingly, FIR No. 115/2026 has been registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation into the case has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the recovered contraband. Reasi Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and narcotics trafficking and appeals to the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug peddling and substance abuse in their areas. |
