JAMMU, July 1: In the direction of strengthening passenger amenities, Jammu Division took two significant initiatives at Pathankot Cantt Railway Station. On one hand, the waiting hall has been equipped with new high-capacity air-conditioning (AC) units, while on the other, a 'Jan Aahar' outlet has also been inaugurated to provide affordable and hygienic food to passengers. New ACs have been installed in the waiting hall with the objective of providing passengers with a comfortable and cool environment during the summer season. This will provide special relief to senior citizens, women, and passengers travelling with children while waiting for their trains. In the same series, the 'Jan Aahar' outlet was inaugurated at Platform No. 1 of Pathankot Cantt Railway Station. Through the 'Jan Aahar' outlet, passengers will have 24x7 access to quality, nutritious meals, snacks, and beverages at prescribed rates. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Shri Uchit Singhal stated, "Pathankot Cantt is an important and busy station. Passenger convenience is our topmost priority. While the air-conditioned waiting hall will provide relief to passengers in the summer, the 'Jan Aahar' outlet will ensure easy availability of cheap and hygienic food, especially for general class passengers, students, and pilgrims. Both these facilities reflect our commitment to 'Passenger Service First'." Thousands of passengers travel through Pathankot Cantt Railway Station every day. The expansion of these amenities will make the passengers' experience more pleasant and convenient. |
