| Jammu and Kashmir Grameen bank conducts Financial Literacy Camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 3: Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank as a part of its Financial Inclusion Initiatives conducted a Financial Literacy Camp at Village Sarore on 02nd July 2026. The Camp was conducted under the ongoing Saturation Campaign at Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body level by DFS. The camp organized by Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank Branch Office Sarore and, Financial Litercay Centre, Jammu, was presided over by Chandrashekhar Azad, Regional Director (RBI-Jammu). The Camp was also attended by Vibha Gupta, DGM RBI; RamSarup, DGM RBI; Sachin Gupta, General Manger, Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank; officials of RBI, other banks operating in the area and Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank. In the Camp, participants were briefed about the ongoing DFS Campaign with prime focus on its objectives which included enrolments under PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY; conversion of inoperative PMJDY accounts to operative; updation of nominee and Re-KYC in accounts; opening of PMJDY accounts of left over adults; generation of C-KYC; awareness on FI schemes as well as digital frauds. A well engaging NukkadNatak was also performed at the Camp emanating message of the Campaign to the participants. Chandrashekhar Azad, Regional Director (RBI-Jammu)elaborated the initiatives under the ongoing DFS Campaign and role of banks in facilitating the same. He urged the participants to seek maximum benefit of the Camp, by sharing the information with their friends and relatives encouraging them to enrol under various Social Security Schemes, operate their various inoperative accounts, re-claim their unclaimed deposits and exercise necessary precautions against digital and cyber frauds. He further informed the gathering that the information related to balances held in RBI's DEA Fund and claim settlement process for all banks can be accessed through Bank's website or RBIs UDGAM Portal, advising beneficiaries/ legal heirs of deposit requisite documents in the banks to reclaim their unclaimed deposit. Sachin Gupta, General Manager in his Keynote address highlighted the importance of Financial Inclusion Schemes and role of Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank as a major player in offering these schemes to rural populace of UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh. He further highlighted bank's commitment to serve its customers with highest standard of services, achieving saturation under the Financial Inclusion Schemes. |
