Early Times Report

Jammu, July 6: PDP leader Dr. Rohit Gupta on Monday visited Jammu Railway Station to interact with devotees arriving for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra. During his visit, he met pilgrims from different parts of the country, welcomed them to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and wished them a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
Dr. Gupta spent time interacting with the yatris, inquiring about their travel experience and the facilities being provided at the railway station. Pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for their reception, security, guidance, medical assistance, transportation, and other essential services.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gupta appreciated the coordinated efforts of the administration and various departments in ensuring seamless arrangements for the pilgrims. He said that Jammu Railway Station has been efficiently transformed into a well-managed transit point, reflecting the commitment of the authorities to facilitate the annual pilgrimage in a safe and organized manner.
He particularly lauded the role of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Railway Police for maintaining a secure and orderly environment at the station. Dr. Gupta commended the dedicated services being rendered under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (Railways) Shailender Singh, whose team has been working round the clock to ensure the safety, convenience, and smooth movement of pilgrims.
“The professionalism, discipline, and people-friendly approach of the police personnel deserve appreciation. Their tireless efforts, along with those of other departments, have instilled a sense of confidence among the devotees undertaking the sacred pilgrimage,” Dr. Gupta said.
He also acknowledged the contribution of railway officials, healthcare teams, sanitation workers, volunteers, and disaster response personnel who are working in close coordination to make the Yatra a hassle-free experience for thousands of devotees passing through Jammu every day.
Dr. Gupta prayed for the successful completion of the Shri Amarnath Yatra and wished all pilgrims a safe journey to the holy cave shrine and back. He expressed hope that the spirit of devotion, hospitality, and communal harmony associated with the Yatra would continue to strengthen the cultural and spiritual heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
