| Advisory for fruit growers of Jammu Division for July | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 6: The fruit growers of Jammu Division are hereby advised to adopt the following cultural and Protective measures during the month of July, 2026 for better management of their orchards: GENERAL:- Start Rainy Season Plantation for new orchards after proper layout and pit digging. Proper drainage of excess water should be done. Stone of desi mango plants be sown along the boundary wall of Fruit plant Nurseries which shall act as wind breaker besides the source of rootstock for grafting of advanced varieties and maintaining the germ plasm of the various desi mango plants. MANGO Deep ploughing the mango orchards immediately after harvest to expose the eggs of Mango Mealy Bugs. Harvest Mango at proper maturity stage. Spray Mancozeb or Copper Oxychloride to manage Anthracnose and repeat spray at 8-10 days interval. CITRUS Spray Dimethoate @ 1.5ml/litre against Citrus Psylla, Leaf Miner, White Fly and Lemon cater pillar. To control Citrus Decline, Spray Copper Oxychloride @ 3gm/litre of water at 15 days interval. GUAVA Remaining half dose of chemical fertilizers be applied in first week of July for winter crop. Shallow ploughing of orchard area with cultivator after crop harvest for exposing and killing the pupating larvae/pupae which are present at 4-6 cm depth. Apply Bait spray at 10-15 days interval with Chloropyrifos 200 ml + Gur 1 kg. in 100 litre of water against Fruit Fly. Drench the basins with Carbendazim @ 1gm / litre in the Wilt affected areas. LITCHI Maintain proper soil moisture and humidity in the orchards. Spray Zinc Sulphate @ 3gm/ litre against fruit cracking till harvest of crop. STONE FRUITS (PEACH, PLUM, APRICOT) Stone extraction of wild Apricots and Peaches be continued. Complete Harvesting of late varieties of stone fruits. Irrigate the orchards as per requirement. FRUIT PLANT NURSERIES Continue budding of Ber during the month. Air layering operation be continued in Litchi and Guava Initiate grafting operations in mango after proper scion preparation. Ensure spray of Dinocap @ 50 ml/100 litres of water on nursery stocks to check attack of Powdery Mildew. Budding of stone fruits to be completed.
