Early Times Report

Jammu, July 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the loss of lives in the flash floods and landslides and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
He said the administration, SDRF, police, and all other concerned agencies were working round the clock to rescue stranded people and provide relief to affected families.
In view of the weather warning issued by the Meteorological Department and the worsening conditions in parts of the Jammu division, the Chief Minister announced that he would leave Delhi on Sunday afternoon to reach Jammu and personally monitor the situation.
Abdullah said he had remained in constant contact with local MLAs from the affected areas to assess the evolving situation and coordinate relief efforts.
"The administration's foremost priority is to save lives. The government will provide every possible assistance to families who have suffered losses due to heavy rains, flash floods and landslides," he said, adding that relief, rescue and rehabilitation measures would be expedited across all affected areas.
