SAMBA, July 21: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police has achieved a major breakthrough by busting an interstate drug smuggling gang and arresting two Punjab-based drug smugglers including a woman and recovered 116 grams of heroin-like substance as backward linkage in a NDPS case registered at Police Station Samba.
The operation was carried out as part of the investigation into FIR No. 211/2026 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Samba on 18.07.2026 in which Police had recovered 25.59 grams of heroin-like substance and arrested the accused Satnam Singh S/o Puran Singh, R/o Amritsar, Punjab.
During the investigation, police developed the backward linkage of the case, leading to the identification of the drug suppliers. Acting on the information, a team constituted by the SSP Samba, conducted a raid in Amritsar and arrested two backward linkage accused, identified as Kulwant Singh S/o Jagir Singh and Roshni W/o Kulwant Singh both residents of Amritsar, Punjab.
During the search of their residence, police recovered 116 grams of heroin-like substance, four mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs.17,300. After completing all legal formalities, the recovered contraband, mobile phones and cash were seized on the spot in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act.
The successful operation has dealt a significant blow to an interstate drug trafficking network and highlights the sustained efforts of Samba Police to identify and dismantle the entire supply chain by tracing both the suppliers and the recipients involved in narcotics trafficking.
