Early Times Report RAMBAN, July 22: Amid continuous heavy rainfall, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak today visited the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Camp at Lamber, Banihal, to review arrangements being made by the District Administration, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, for the safety, convenience and well-being of pilgrims. The ADC, accompanied by SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, inspected accommodation facilities, sanitation, drinking water supply, power supply, healthcare services, security arrangements and other essential amenities available at the camp. He also reviewed preparedness of departments concerned to deal with any weather-related contingency and directed officers concerned to remain alert and ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services. Interacting with officers and officials deployed at the camp, the ADC stressed the need for close coordination among line departments to ensure prompt response to any emergency. He directed agencies concerned to maintain round-the-clock vigil, keep adequate manpower and machinery in readiness and provide all possible assistance to pilgrims. The ADC also interacted with stranded pilgrims and enquired about facilities being provided, assuring them that the District Administration is committed to ensuring a safe pilgrimage despite the prevailing weather conditions. He reiterated that the District Administration is closely monitoring the weather situation and all arrangements related to the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and said all departments have been directed to remain on high alert, maintain close coordination and ensure timely assistance and uninterrupted essential services for pilgrims. He also appealed to pilgrims to follow official weather advisories and cooperate with the administration for their safety and convenience.
