Jammu, July 22: The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Crime Branch Jammu, today filed a charge-sheet against former police official for his alleged involvement in a fraudulent job scam.
The chargesheet was filed against Sg. Ct. Mohammad Tahir, son of Mohammad Hussain, resident of Banola Chhatral, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch, in connection with FIR No. 03/2026 registered at Police Station SCW Jammu under Sections 318(4), 319, 336 and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charge-sheet has been presented before the Hon’ble Municipal Court, Jammu.
Sharing details of the case, Shri Sanjay Parihar, SSP, Special Crime Wing Jammu, stated that the case originated from two written complaints alleging that the accused fraudulently induced the complainants by promising government jobs in the Jammu & Kashmir High Court.
After paying the money through bank transfers and cash, the complainants were handed over forged High Court appointment order.
When they approached the High Court for verification, it was confirmed that the appointment orders were fake and had never been issued by the institution.
During investigation, SCW collected documentary, financial and oral evidence, including bank account statements, seizure of forged appointment orders, statements of witnesses recorded under Section 180 BNSS, and official verification from the High Court confirming that the purported appointment orders were forged.
Investigation further established the money trail through bank transactions and corroborated the allegations made by the complainants.
The investigation also revealed that the accused deliberately evaded investigation despite repeated notices issued under the BNSS. It further surfaced that he is already an accused in another case of a similar nature (FIR No. 04/2024) and has been absconding, with warrants already issued against him by the competent court.
On the basis of the evidence collected, SCW concluded that the accused dishonestly cheated the complainants by falsely promising government employment, forged official appointment orders and caused wrongful loss to the victims while securing wrongful gain for himself. Accordingly, offences under Sections 318(4), 319, 336 and 340 BNS were found proved, and the charge-sheet has been filed before the Hon’ble Court for judicial determination by Dy SP Javed Iqbal Tabassum. |
