| Samba police tightens noose around drug network | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, July 22: Continuing its sustained drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba Police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered approximately 12.35 grams heroin-like substance from his possession within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh. Acting on specific and reliable information regarding the movement of a suspected drug peddler, a police team of Police Station Ramgarh established a special checking Naka near Kajyal Morh on the Koulpur-Ramgarh Link Road and intercepted a pedestrian who was coming from Koulpur side and moving towards Ramgarh side. During frisking, approximately 12.35 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession. The drug peddler identified as Vijay Chitra S/o Kartar Chand R/o Ward No. 01 near Govt. Hospital Ramgarh district Samba has been arrested and the contraband item has also been seized. A case FIR No 48/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramgarh and investigation started. SSP Samba appealed to the general public, particularly the youth, to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or drug peddling. |
