JAMMU, July 25: Thirty-one Semester V students of PSPS Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhinagar, Jammu, successfully completed a 60-hour Summer Internship Programme at the Counselling Cell, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Jammu. The internship was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Romesh Kumar, HOD, DIET Jammu, and renowned psychologist, with the objective of providing hands-on exposure to counselling psychology, school mental health, psychological assessment, communication skills, ethical counselling practices, and psychosocial support.
The internship combined theoretical learning with practical exposure through interactive lectures, counselling demonstrations, case discussions, group activities, role plays, and discussions on contemporary issues in educational and counselling psychology. The programme aimed to strengthen students' professional competencies and prepare them for future roles in counselling, education, and mental health services.
Dr. R. G. Dogra, Principal, DIET Jammu, congratulated the students on successfully completing the internship and appreciated the collaborative initiative between DIET Jammu and PSPS GCW Gandhinagar. He stated:

At the valedictory function, all 31 student interns were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the internship. The programme reflects DIET Jammu's commitment to promoting quality training, strengthening counselling services, and advancing mental health literacy in educational institutions while nurturing the next generation of competent and compassionate psychology professionals. |
