Early Times Report JAMMU, July 25: District Legal Services Authority, Jammu, in collaboration with the Forest Division, Jammu, organised a plantation drive on 25 July 2026 at Nagar Van, Raika, Jammu, as part of Van Mahotsav-2026 under the nationwide campaign "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam." Leading the initiative, Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA Jammu, Ravinder Nath Watal, planted a sapling dedicated to his mother, Smt Rani Watal. Joining him in this heartfelt gesture, Secretary DLSA Jammu, Maleeka Sharma, planted one for her mother, Manju Sharma. Furthermore, Divisional Forest Officer Jammu, Anurag Arya, participated by planting a sapling dedicated to his mother, Mini Arya, whereas Range Officer Bahu, Wajid Rafiqi, also planted one in memory of his late mother, Amna Rafiqi. The drive aimed to enhance the region's green cover and spread awareness about environmental conservation. During the event, dignitaries emphasised the value of afforestation and urged everyone to actively participate in protecting the ecosystem by planting and nurturing trees. Many more trees were planted by the participating officers, officials and staff. Also present were Abdul Adnan Chowdhary and Dawood Ibrahim, PLVs of DLSA Jammu. |
