| Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu chargesheeted fraudsters in two separate cases | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 25: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Crime Branch Jammu, has filed chargesheets in two separate fraud cases before the competent courts after completing detailed investigations. The Economic Offences Wing filed a chargesheet in a fraud case involving M/s Gold Sukh Trade India Ltd., Jaipur, wherein the accused allegedly induced investors to deposit money by promising exorbitant returns and subsequently misappropriated their investments.
The case FIR No. 306/2011 U/S 420, 406, 120-B RPC registered on a written complaint lodged by Ashish Sharma at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, alleging that he was induced to invest Rs. 1,20,480/- by the company and its local representatives on false promises of high returns. The case was later transferred to Crime Branch Jammu for indepth investigation. During investigation it came to fore that numerous investors were induced to invest ?30.29 lakh in the company's schemes through false promises of extraordinarily high returns. The company, though incorporated in Rajasthan, was found to be unregistered with SEBI, RBI and the Registrar of Companies, J&K. Based on oral, documentary and bank evidence, the chargesheet has been filed against Manvendra Partap Singh Chouhan, Bablu Sharma, Mahendra Kumar Nirwan, Neeraj Kant Sharma and Vinod Kundal before the Hon'ble Court of 13 FC Special Mobile Magistrate Jammu.
In another case, the Economic Offences Wing filed a chargesheet relating to the fraudulent procurement of Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) on the basis of forged revenue records.
The case FIR No. 52/2016 U/S 465, 467, 468 and 120-B RPC, r/w Section 5(2) PC Act registered on a written complaint lodged by Surat Singh at "PS" Crime Branch Jammu wherein complainant alleged that the accused in conspiracy with revenue officials, fraudulently obtained fake PRCs to purchase land and secure government jobs in Jammu & Kashmir. During investigation it came to fore that Sarup Singh, Bishamber Singh, Purab Singh and Suraj Singh, in conspiracy with the then Patwari Rashpal Singh, fraudulently obtained PRCs by using forged Nakal Shajra Nasab and Nakal Jamabandi. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) examination confirmed that the questioned revenue documents had been prepared by the then Patwari and were not genuine as per official revenue records. Accordingly, the chargesheet has been filed before the Hon'ble Court of Addl. Session Judge Anti Corruption Jammu for judicial determination.
