7/31/2026 10:41:31 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 31: Jammu West MLA Arvind Gupta on Friday inaugurated the construction of a lane and drain in Ward No. 31. The project, sanctioned under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh.
Addressing residents on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that upgrading basic civic infrastructure across the Jammu West Assembly constituency remains one of his foremost priorities. He asserted that development works would be undertaken in every locality in a planned and need-based manner.
"Reliable drainage, clean surroundings and well-constructed lanes are essential for improving people's quality of life. This project will address a long-pending demand of Ward No. 31 and provide considerable relief and convenience to residents," Gupta said.
The MLA stated that the new drainage facility would help prevent waterlogging, improve sanitation and ensure the smooth disposal of wastewater. He added that the construction of the lane would also provide safer and more convenient access to residents, particularly during the rainy season.
Gupta said he remains committed to ensuring the effective utilisation of CDF funds for projects that directly benefit the public. He also asked the executing agency to maintain the prescribed quality standards and complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
The MLA assured residents that other genuine civic issues in the ward would also be addressed in coordination with the departments concerned. He called upon the public to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and protecting newly created infrastructure.
Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to Arvind Gupta for taking up the long-pending development work.
Prominent among those present were Mandal President Anil Angral, former Councillor Sucha Singh, Arun Dubey, Deepak Kumar, Samardeep Singh, Pinki Bhatt, Bharat Jandiyal and Suman Dogra.
