JAMMU, Aug 8: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Abhiyaan, Jammu Police arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered approximately 10 grams of heroin (Chitta)-like substance from his possession in the R.S. Pura area.
Today, at about 1930 hours, a police party of Police Station R.S. Pura established a naka at Badhyal Brahmana Road as part of routine checking and surveillance. During checking, one person identified as Anshu Bhagat S/o Bishan Lal, R/o Dhinday Kalan, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu, was apprehended on suspicion.
During his personal search, approximately 10.00 grams of heroin (Chitta)-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 148/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura, and further investigation has been taken up to establish the source and intended destination of the contraband and identify other persons involved in the drug network.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to taking stringent action against drug trafficking and urged the public to extend cooperation in the collective fight against the menace of drugs. |
