Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 14: On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, Jammu Division, Northern Railway, with the objective of providing better facilities to passengers and strengthening regional connectivity, is restoring the halt of 6 important trains at Samba Railway Station. These halts will be effective from 15 August 2026. On this historic occasion, Hon'ble Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma Ji* will be present as the Chief Guest and will flag off Train No. 20434 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Subedarganj Express at 17:26 hrs on 15.08.2026. Senior officials, staff and local citizens will also be present at the event. The 6 trains whose halt has been restored at Samba Station are: Train No. 20434 16787, 14803, 14804, 16317, 16031 In continuation of this, the halt of Train No. 19223/19224 has also been provided at Samba Railway Station. Along with this, the extension of this train from Jammu to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra has also been approved, which will be effective from 18 October 2026. The people of Samba area have long been demanding more train halts here. The restoration of halts of 6 trains on Independence Day is a double celebration for the residents of the area. This will provide direct connectivity to pilgrims, students, employees and businessmen, and will also give a boost to local trade and tourism.
