Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, Aug 22: The NCORD Cell, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and NCC Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar, organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" under the patronage of Principal Prof. Daljeet Singh Manhas. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sham Singh, Convenor, NCORD Cell, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of involving youth in awareness initiatives aimed at preventing drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society. A total of nine students participated in the competition and showcased their creativity and understanding of the message of a drug-free society through thought-provoking posters. The entries were adjudged by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, HOD English; Dr. Kewal Kumar, Department of Botany; and Prof. Sumita Rao, HOD Zoology. The winners were: First Prize - Seemu Devi; Second Prize - Komal Devi; and Third Prize - Mamta Devi. Addressing the students, Principal Prof. Daljeet Singh Manhas appreciated the efforts of the organising teams and the enthusiastic participation of the students. He emphasised the important role of youth in creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and urged them to become responsible ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, NSS Programme Officer, followed by the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners and participating students. The event was successfully organised through the joint efforts of the NCORD Cell, NSS Unit and NCC Unit.
