Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Aug 22: Under Project AAROHI, a Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Initiative exclusively for women was successfully organized at PHC Sungal, Block Akhnoor. The initiative was supported by the General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) and implemented by the Human Organisation for Patronisation of Environment (HOPE) with the objective of promoting awareness and early detection of breast and cervical cancer among women. A comprehensive awareness session was conducted by Dr. Divya Malhotra, along with the PHC staff and ASHA workers. The beneficiaries were educated about breast and cervical cancer, including risk factors, early warning signs, breast self-examination, preventive measures, the importance of regular screening, and timely medical consultation. Dr. Divya Malhotra emphasized the importance of early detection and encouraged women to undergo regular health check-ups and participate actively in cancer screening programs. From HOPE, Project Coordinator Minkle Kumar participated along with the HOPE team members involved in the successful organization of the camp. The camp focused on awareness, early screening, and preventive healthcare for women. Free consultations, screening services, and health guidance were provided to the beneficiaries. Such initiatives under Project AAROHI continue to strengthen healthcare outreach and improve access to essential cancer screening services for women, particularly in rural and underserved communities. |
