Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 22: The 7th Jammu District Yogasana Sports Championship 2026-27 was successfully concluded today at the Judo Hall, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, with enthusiastic participation from athletes representing various schools and institutions across Jammu district. The championship was organized on august 22, 2026 by the Jammu District Yogasana Sports Association under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association, affiliated with Yogasana Bharat and recognized by the J&K Sports Council. The championship was aimed at promoting Yogasana as a competitive sport, encouraging youth participation and identifying promising talent at the district level. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 175 athletes, besides around 40 technical officials, coaches and supporting staff. Athletes competed in the Senior A, Senior B, Senior C and Junior categories, with more than 75 athletes participating. On the second day, participation increased to more than 100 athletes, reflecting the growing interest and popularity of Yogasana Sports among young athletes in Jammu. A notable feature of the championship was the participation of students from various schools, who displayed excellent skills, flexibility, balance, concentration and discipline during the competitions. Their enthusiastic participation added vibrancy to the championship and highlighted the growing interest of the younger generation in Yogasana as a competitive sport. The competitions were conducted under the guidance and support of the Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association, with technical officials and coaches ensuring the smooth and disciplined conduct of the championship. Divya Gupta, Zonal Head, Jammu and Vice President, Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association, along with office bearers of the Jammu District Yogasana Sports Association, coaches and technical officials, extended their support and encouragement to the participating athletes. The medal-winning athletes delivered commendable performances and brought laurels to Jammu District and the Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association. Their performances will provide them with an opportunity to progress towards UT/State-level competitions and subsequently compete at National Championships under the appropriate selection process. |
