JAMMU, Aug 22: A Millet Restaurant sanctioned to Shubham Manhas, R/o Sarore Lower, under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), component "Promotion of Nutricereals," was inaugurated today by MLA Rajeev Bhagat at Sarore.
The inauguration was held in the presence of SDAO R.S. Pura, Arun Jaral, along with SMSs Rahul Sawhney, Rajinder Sharma and Sushil Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rajeev Bhagat highlighted the importance and nutritional benefits of millets and appreciated the Agriculture Department for taking this progressive initiative. He particularly lauded the department for encouraging and involving youth in such ventures, which can provide new avenues of entrepreneurship while promoting healthy food choices.
SDAO R.S. Pura, Arun Jaral, impressed upon the importance of millet consumption in the present era and urged the general public to incorporate millets into their diets owing to their multiple nutritional and health benefits. He also called upon the youth to come forward and take up similar ventures under the schemes and programmes being implemented by the Agriculture Department.
While congratulating Shubham Manhas, who is among the youth beneficiaries, SDAO Arun Jaral encouraged more young people to explore agriculture-based entrepreneurship. He further urged the public to come forward and avail themselves of the various schemes and benefits being provided by the Agriculture Department for the promotion and betterment of the agricultural sector.
AEO Channi Himmat, Navneet Kour, while highlighting the importance of millets, requested the people to opt for this smart food due to its nutritional value and protein content.
