Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 22: An excellent example of promptness and honesty of railway personnel has come to light in Jammu Division. On 21st August 2026, while on duty in Train No. 26402, the ticket checking staff received information through control that a passenger's bag had been left behind on Seat No. 6, 7 and 8 in Coach No. C-11, while the passenger had already completed his journey and deboarded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station. On receiving the information, the on-duty ticket checking staff Shri Dinesh Kumar immediately reached Coach C-11 and took the bag lying on the seat into his custody. Thereafter, he obtained the passenger's details and mobile number through his Hand Held Terminal (HHT) and contacted the passenger. The passenger informed that his bag contained important documents and cash. On checking, cash amounting to Rs. 24,980/- and important documents such as Aadhaar Card, Identity Card and Driving License were found safe in the bag. After completing the verification process, the said bag was handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) as per rules, so that it could be returned to the concerned passenger after proper verification. On getting his bag and cash back safely, the passenger expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Jammu Division and the ticket checking staff. On this commendable work, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division said, "The promptness, honesty and dedication shown by our ticket checking staff is highly appreciable. Jammu Division is always committed to the safety of its passengers and the safe journey of their belongings. We appeal to all passengers to take special care of their luggage during the journey.
