JAMMU, Sept 4: Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), Jammu & Kashmir, held an important meeting of its office bearers to review organisational activities, strengthen its network across J&K and deliberate upon key issues concerning the industrial sector.
The meeting was attended by Parveen Pargal, National Executive Member, LUB & Prabhari J&K; Dinesh Gupta, State President; Ankit Gupta, State Vice President; Aagam Jain, State General Secretary; Ishant Gupta, State Treasurer; and Rajinder Sadotra, State Joint Treasurer.
Office bearers of the Gangyal Ikai, including Raghav Gupta, President; Yogesh Verma, Senior Vice President; and Sandeep Gupta, General Secretary, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was informed that a five-member delegation from LUB J&K comprising Parveen Pargal, Dinesh Gupta, Aagam Jain, Ishant Gupta and Rajinder Sadotra will participate in the three-day National Executive Meeting of Laghu Udyog Bharati being held in Ayodhya from September 6 to 8.
The meeting unanimously decided that the delegation would prominently raise issues concerning industries in Jammu & Kashmir before the national leadership, particularly the New Central Sector Scheme (NCSS) and the need for a suitable and continuous industrial incentive framework for the Union Territory.
The members expressed concern over the absence of an effective incentive scheme for industries in J&K at present. They observed that Jammu & Kashmir is predominantly a consuming region where local industries face geographical and logistical disadvantages, including higher transportation costs, limited local markets and dependence on supplies from outside the Union Territory.
The members emphasised that continued industrial support is essential to provide a level playing field to local manufacturers, safeguard existing industries and employment, and encourage fresh investment in Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation will place these concerns before the national leadership at Ayodhya and seek its support in taking up the issues with the appropriate authorities at the Central level.
The meeting also resolved to further strengthen Laghu Udyog Bharati's organisational network across Jammu & Kashmir and ensure greater participation of industrialists, entrepreneurs and MSMEs in the organisation. |
