REASI, Oct 1: Continuing its drive against the menace of drug trafficking and abuse, Reasi Police recovered 6.65 grams of heroin from the possession of two persons during naka checking at Chungi Point, Katra.
On September 29, 2026, at about 2050 hours, a naka party of Police Station Katra was conducting routine vehicle-cum-pedestrian checking at Chungi Point, Katra. During the checking, two persons proceeding on foot from Balini towards Bus Stand, Katra, were intercepted and subjected to checking.
During their search, 6.65 gms of heroin like substance was recovered from their possession. The accused persons were identified as Vinay Kumar S/o Kunj Lal, R/o Bhagtha, Katra, and Deepak Gupta S/o Surinder Gupta, R/o Main Bazar, Katra.
Accordingly, FIR No. 310/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Investigation has been initiated, with backward and forward linkage analysis being undertaken to identify the source and intended recipients of the contraband.
Reasi Police reiterates its commitment to taking stringent action against drug trafficking and dismantling the networks involved in the illegal drug trade. |
