Jammu, Oct 8: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has revised its judicial calendar for 2026, declaring October 16 as a non-sitting day and November 24 as a holiday while designating November 5 and 6 as working days. According to a notification issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma, October 16 (Friday), originally scheduled as a working day, has been declared a non-sitting day. In lieu thereof, November 6 (Friday), earlier designated as a non-sitting day, will now be observed as a working day. The notification further states that November 5 (Thursday), which was marked as a holiday in the High Court Calendar 2026, has been declared a working day. Instead, November 24 (Tuesday) has been declared a holiday on account of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birthday. The changes have been notified through Notification No. 2512 of 2026/RG/NG-15(I), dated October 8, 2026. The Registrar General has directed that the revised schedule be communicated to all concerned judicial and administrative authorities, including the Registrar Judicial of the Jammu and Srinagar wings and the respective Bar Associations, for information and necessary action.
