SAMBA, Oct 8: Tightening noose against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has foiled two major bovine smuggling attempts in successive day within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, arrested a bovine smuggler and rescued twenty-one (21) bovines. The vehicle used in the illegal transportation of bovines was also seized.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Post Rakh Amb Talli has successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued six bovines near Manohar Gopala which were being smuggled by foot from Kathua side towards Samba side. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer location.
The bovine smuggler identified as Soma Din S/o Ali Hussain R/o Hiranagar district Kathua has been arrested.
A case FIR No. 275/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
In another incident, a team of Police Station Samba, acting on reliable information, intercepted a Truck bearing Registration No. JK02AG-5692 near Diani, Samba. During search and checking, fifteen bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and shifted to a safer place.
A case FIR No. 276/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started. |
