| DPS Kathua's Saksham Shines, bags first position and Rs 5,000 in J&K Police Drawing Competition | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Oct 10: Bringing laurels to the institution, Saksham Sharma, a Class XI student of Delhi Public School Kathua, secured First Position along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 in a Drawing Competition organised by Headquarters 19 JKAP IR, Kathua, under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27. The competition was held at Battalion Headquarters, Changran, Kathua, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, themed "Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel: The Iron Man of India, National Unity & Nationalism," aimed to inspire young minds to embrace the values of patriotism, national integration and unity through artistic expression. The occasion was graced by Ms. Mohita Sharma, IPS, SSP Kathua, as the Chief Guest. Students from five schools participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity, imagination and artistic skills while expressing their thoughts on national unity and patriotism. Representing Delhi Public School Kathua were Kanish Sharma (Class XII), Saksham Sharma (Class XI), Gokul Krishna (Class X), Aashvit (Class X), Ritika (Class XII), Akshita (Class XII), Payal Rajput (Class X) and Manvi Bandral (Class X). The students participated enthusiastically, displaying their artistic abilities and expressing the spirit of national unity through their artwork. Among the participants, Saksham Sharma distinguished himself through his exceptional artistic talent and creative expression, securing the prestigious First Position and a cash award of Rs 5,000. The students were accompanied by Ms. Ruchi Sharma, P.W. Coordinator, who encouraged and supported them throughout the event.
