TOP STORY OF THE DAY
How BJP's 'vision document' 2014 haunts its leadership
Hamare Sapno Ka Jammu Kashmir!
10/6/2018 10:35:25 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: The so-called vision document of BJP titled "Hamare Sapno Ka Jammu Kashmir", (J&K of our dreams) which was released before assembly elections of 2014 is badly haunting the state leadership that miserably failed to translate even a handful of promises they made before coming to power. The promises made in the document were neither formulated by the opposition parties nor were imposed on BJP by any party, but it was formulated by the party leadership as per their own preferences and their capabilities. But a little glance at the document exposes that the state is in the same situation from where it had started in 2014. First comes, the promise to POJK refugees and West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs) in the 'vision document' 2014. The BJP had promised to grant citizenship rights to WPRs as well as right to vote for them in state assembly and local body elections and right to immovable property in the state. "Local body elections are undergoing but WPRs are still without any voting rights and they have not got any right on the immovable property as well",...

Sunil Kumar of village Gandharwan, Akhnoor had filed a complaint with the DEO on October 4 seeking verification of the state subject certificate submitted by Kuldeep Raj who has filed his nomination papers for ward No.12 as a BJP candidate. Grievance redressal system made robust, babus on toes
10/6/2018 10:35:03 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: As the Governor's administration has been making public the number of public grievances it received and resolved, during the tenure of previous regimes such a system was missing from the state machinery. As per officials privy to this development, the previous governments in the state had kept no such system in place that could have kept an account of how many public grievances it received and how many did it dispose within the stipulated time frame. There are instances when a public grievance was found handing in the middle for months with no follow action done by the officials posted in the grievance cell of the state. And therefore, there wasn't any...

SKUAST's vaccine against animal disease nowhere
Despite spending Rs 3 crore
10/6/2018 10:34:34 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences (SKUAST) had developed a vaccine against foot-rot disease, which is found in sheep, after spending crores in 2014, but shockingly it failed to make it available in the market. Sources told Early Times that in a sheer display of SKUAST's pathetic attitude to handle projects can be gauged from the fact that it was assigned a project to develop vaccine against the virulent foot-rot disease along with another project under the National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) in collaboration with other universities in 2009. "These projects of Council for Agricultural Research were to be executed at a cost...

10/6/2018 10:34:20 PM

Resentment is brewing among the party workers of National Conference over the allegedly cold response of its leadership on the killing of two of the workers in Karfalli Mohalla locality of Srinagar here on October 5. BJP is finding it hard to put its act together in Jammu region as independents are posing a tough challenge to the BJP candidates. On the other hand PDP and NC are finding themselves cornered in Kashmir after boycotting these polls as the independent candidates are all set to emerge as a new force. Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6: Separatists like Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik and the so-called mainstream Kashmiri leaders like Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah, both former CMs and former Union Ministers, and Mehbooba Mufti, again a former CM, have no say whatsoever in Jammu and Ladakh. Chances of Govt formation nil
10/6/2018 9:48:18 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6: Chances of government formation in Jammu & Kashmir have further receded and the possibility of the BJP re-stitching alliance with the Kashmir-based PDP of Mehbooba Mufti is also too remote. Two days ago, the Jammu & Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik, had made it abundantly clear that he will not allow horse-trading in the state and that new government could be formed only after fresh election held either with the general elections in...
