Abducted shopkeeper found dead in Sopore orchards Killing sprees unleashed a reign of terror 10/6/2018 9:48:10 PM Mohammad Sarfaraz Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Oct 6: A young 30 year old shopkeeper was found dead in an orchard in Sopore town of north Kashmir; the deceased was kidnapped by suspected gunmen few days back from Handwara area. Sources said that few days back a young shopkeeper, Tawseef Ahmad Ganie (30) S/O Mohammad Afzal Ganai R/O Tujjer village of Sopore town, was abducted by unknown gunmen from his shop at Unisoo village of Handwara on Wednesday afternoon. Today morning the dead body of the abducted shopkeeper was found in the orchards at Harwan village, after which police was informed about the incident, said sources. Sources told ET that the body of the abducted shopkeeper was recovered from orchards at Harwan village today morning. A senior police official said that, locals informed the police about the dead body, after which a police team rushed to the spot where they found the body of an abducted shopkeeper. The body was taken in custody of legal formalities, however police has registered a case and investigations were set into motion, the police official said. Pertinently on Sept 24, A 45 year old man was abducted by unidentified gunmen from his home in Harwan village of Sopore town. The masked gunmen had barged inside the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/O Gulam Rasool Mir at Harwan, Sopore. Later the abducted person was found dead in the orchards in Lathi shat village that falls few kilometers away from his native village. Local sources said that, "the killing sprees have unleashed a reign of terror in the area, and people have been found to keep gates and other entry points locked after Magrib prayers only. "Notably in the past Sopore town has seen many killings, and people are very scared of it, sometimes the night long hours keeps us on toes, adding even though fire crackers seems that something has went wrong, such is the situation of fear in the area, locals have observed it", said sources.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
