Sub-Inspector recruitment row: LG Manoj Sinha orders time-bound probe

Early Times Report Jammu, June 9: Amid allegations of bungling and fraud, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday announced a time-bound probe by a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (ADC), Home Department, R K Goyal into the recently released list of candidates who have qualified for the written examination of Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) released the list of Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) on June 4. “From the last couple of days, reports in newspapers have questioned the written test of the Sub-Inspector recruitment conducted by JKSSB. We have decided that a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary Home (R K Goyal) will inquire into it within a time-bound manner and if any fraud was found, the process shall be annulled and recruitment will be made in a transparent manner," Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said while addressing a passing out parade of cops at Police Academy Udhampur. Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: Special Judge NIA Ashwani Sharma has rejected the bail application of one Zahir Abbas Naik who is teacher by profession allegedly involved in supplying arms and ammunition to terrorists. BSF fires at suspected drone in Arnia sector

Early Times Report Jammu, June 9: Alert troops of Border Security Force early morning on Thursday fired at a suspected drone and pushed it back in Arnia sector of Jammu. BSF spokesman DIG SPS Sandhu said that a blinking light suspected to be a drone was observed in the Arnia sector at around 4.15 am. "The BSF troops fired at it due to which it returned back," he said. Notably, President Ramnath Kovind is also arriving here on a two day visit.
