3 terrorists killed in Kashmir gunfights | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 7: Security forces shot dead three militants, including the one who had a Bachelors in Veterinary Sciences, in two separate operations in Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
The first gunfight of the day broke out in frontier Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir in which two militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed.
Police said the encounter broke when an operation was launched based on specific input regarding movement of militants in Kandi area of Kupwara.
"During search, the joint party came under heavy volume of fire from the terrorists, which was retaliated effectively leading to an encounter. In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists, including a foreign terrorist, were killed," a police spokesman said.
They were identified as Ishtiaq Ahmad Lone, a resident of Tral and a Pakistani militants Tufail, a resident of Lahore, linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT.

Jammu, June 7: Alert troops of Jammu police have shot down a drone spotted close to an international border and brought down the payload attached with it in and found magnetic improvised explosive devices in Kanhachak sector of Jammu.
Additional Director General of Police Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh on Tuesday morning said that the BSF troops last night observed a drone activity in Kanachak area and fired few shots towards it.

Srinagar, June 7: The J&K Police on Tuesday said it has cracked last week's IED blast case in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir that left one soldier dead and two others injured. Police said two “hybrid” militants involved in the incident, have been arrested and the entire conspiracy of the blast was "hatched" by an active Lashkar-e-Toiba militant. Srinagar, June 7: Days after the killing of a bank manager, the Joint Forum of Gramin Bank Unions (JFGBU) has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman demanding that employees belonging to other states or outside the Kashmir Valley be relocated outside to “restrict any further bloodshed”.
Last week, 26-year-old Vijay Kumar of Rajasthan and the manager at Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) at Kulgam, was shot dead in his office. The killing was the latest in a series of targeted attacks on minorities and non-locals in Kashmir.
